How It Works

Book Condition & Selection

We accept up to 10 gently used titles in great shape, with no torn pages, coffee stains (yes, we noticed the irony), heavy markings, or cracked spines.

Review & Trade Options

Once you drop off your books, our bookstore lead will review them on the spot. The process usually takes about 20 to 30 minutes.

We offer flat purchase prices of up to $5 per book, depending on the condition and resale value.

While you wait, you’re welcome to browse the shelves, find your next great read, or grab a latte on us.

Trade Options

Bring your books on the last Thursday of every month, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, or schedule an appointment. You’ll receive your offer during the same visit. If a few books don’t quite meet our criteria, you can choose to donate them. We’ll make sure they find a new home through our local community programs.

A Few Good-to-Knows

While we love giving books a second life, some just aren’t the right fit for our shelves. Here’s what we currently cannot accept.

Damaged or heavily worn books. No torn covers, water damage, missing pages, or anything that’s had a rough ride.
Hardcovers missing their dust jackets.
Textbooks (including older editions).
Business or tech books published before 2020.
Spiral-bound books or library copies with bindings or stickers.
Magazines, journals, and periodicals.
Books with lots of writing or highlighting.

The Fine Print

Books for Cash

We accept books based on current stock levels and market demand. The availability can shift depending on what’s trending or what’s currently on our shelves.

Response Time

Our goal is to review and make an offer within about 20 minutes of your drop-off. We just ask that you stay in the café during that time so you can take home any books we’re unable to accept, unless you’d prefer to donate them.

Final Decisions

All book acceptance decisions are made by our bookstore lead, and those calls are final. If we’re not able to take some of your books, you can choose to bring them home, or we’ll happily donate or recycle them on your behalf.
